Ready to go green? The table below will give you an idea of what you qualify for. Remember, rebates are limited to one reimbursement per address per year. Scroll down below to participate in the online course and quiz or sign up to attend an in-person workshop.

Not sure which district you fall under? We verify your address online through The Franklin County Auditor and use your tax district to find out what you would qualify for. For any other questions, please call (614) 486-9613, ext. 111.

*Eligibility is based on your primary tax district, which may be different than your postal address.
If you live in a city, municipality or village that has combined boundaries, your primary tax district takes precedence and if not listed below as a participating community, but you live within Franklin County, you would only be eligible for a rebate on the purchase of a rain barrel.

***SPECIAL OFFER FOR CITY OF COLUMBUS AND NEW ALBANY RESIDENTS***

Receive a $100 reimbursement if you purchase a native tree this year from the Branch Out Columbus preferred tree list. Note: This offer cannot be combined with any other eligible item and will only apply to native tree purchases. If you are not interested in purchasing a native tree this year, you would still qualify for a $50 reimbursement on another eligible item but would not qualify for a reimbursement on both. This is a special offer funded by the City of Columbus & New Albany for residents and tax payers of Columbus and New Albany only.  This offer is based on your primary tax district, which may be different than your postal address. Not all participants will qualify for the $100 rebate.

Take the Online Course and Quiz

(Open April 1, 2017 - October 31, 2017)


  1. Fill out the contact page with your most up to date information including home address, phone number and an email address that you check regulary.
  2. Watch an online presentation with a focus on residential use of rain barrels, rain gardens, composting, native plants and lawn care.
  3. Take a short quiz on what you've learned at the end.
  4. Pass the quiz and your information is sent to Franklin Soil and Water.
  5. We verify your eligibility and send you a voucher with eligible rebate items.
  6. Follow the instructions on your voucher for how to redeem your rebate & receive your reimbursement.

Register for a Local Workshop


  1. The Community Backyards In-Person Workshops are free for any to attend, and offer information, interaction, and answers to your questions. 
  2. Register online or print and mail the registration form (below).
  3. We will verify your information and contact you to confirm registration.
  4. Attend the workshop of your choice (dates & location TBA). At the conclusion of the workshop you will receive a voucher with eligible rebate items (if you pre-registered).
  5. Follow the instructions on your voucher for how to redeem your rebate & receive your reimbursement.
